Those programmes aim to develop skills in specific fields of management, sometimes specific to a particular industry, like retail or telecoms.
Usually those programmes are shorter than the the transition-specific programmes and may last for from a couple of days to one week at the longest.
Some programmes aim to introduce the subject to new comers. Others aim to developp advanced skills for veterans of the field or industry, particularly for senior executives. Sometimes, the programmes aim to developp «good enough» skills for executives not working in the field: this is the case of the very popular programmes labelled «finance for non-financial managers».
